The work permit, known as the Permiso de Trabajadores del Área Panamá Pacífico, is granted to individuals who will be working as specialized personnel in technical aspects or management within an organization. This permit is only available for a maximum of 10% of the company's ordinary workers. The permit is valid for a provisional period of 5years and must comply with the Art. 206 of the Decree Executive 320 of August8, 2008.
To apply for this permit, the following documents are required: a completed application and power of attorney, three passport-sized photographs, a copy of the passport notarized by a Panamanian public notary, and a payment of B/.800.00 to the National Migration Service as a deposit for repatriation. Additionally, a declaration of personal background, a certificate from the company's treasurer or secretary, and a certification from the company's accountant must be provided.
Proof of investment must also be provided, which can be demonstrated through at least two of the following documents: a copy of a sales or leasing contract of the property where the company operates or is headquartered, customs clearance of goods imported in the name of the company or investor, commercial invoices and detailed inventory by an authorized public accountant. Also, a bank letter must be provided, certifying that the funds invested by the foreign applicant come from outside the country.
Furthermore, a certificate of the company's registration with the Agencia Económica Especial Panamá Pacífico, a certificate of the company's compliance with the CSS, and a copy of the company's resolution of registration with MITRADEL must also be provided.
