If you're a foreign national looking to retire in Panama and receive a steady income, the "Jubilado Pensionado" (PRP-JP) permit may be the perfect option for you. In order to qualify, you must receive a pension or retirement from a foreign government, international organization, or private company and have sufficient means to cover your own and your dependents' living expenses in the country. The monthly income must be at least $1,000 and be granted on a lifelong basis.

To apply for the permit, you will need to provide the following documents:

1.     Power of attorney and application form

2.     Three photographs

3.     A copy of your passport that has been verified by a notary.

4.     A certificate of criminal record

5.     A certificate of health

6.     A declaration of personal background form

7.     A certification of your status as a retiree or pensioner, including the amount of your income and that it is lifelong.

8.     If the pension comes from a private company, additional documents such as a letter from the pension administrator, a certificate of the company's existence and validity, and bank statement.

Additionally, if you have purchased a property in Panama for more than $100,000, the minimum pension required is $750. For couples, you may combine your pensions to meet the minimum requirement.
