Panama Residency as a Missionary

LEGAL@work is here to assist you with obtaining a Temporary Permit in the capacity of Lay Missionary serving the Catholic and Orthodox Church (PRT-MD) in the Republic of Panama. This permit is valid for bi-annual periods, with a maximum duration of six years. In order to obtain this permit, the following steps and requirements must be met:

1.    Power of Attorney and Application (notarized and with appropriate tax stamps).

2.    Three(3) photographs.

3.    A copy of the passport, properly verified by a notary or corresponding authority.

4.    A Criminal Background Check or sworn statement before a Notary.

5.    A Health Certificate.

6.    A certified check for B/.250.00 in favor of the National Treasury.

7.    A Personal Background Declaration form.

8.    A letter from the highest authority to which the missionary has been assigned, certifying the activity to be carried out, the missionary group or religious community to which they belong, the location and duration of their stay in the country.

In the event of a permit renewal, the same requirements will apply with the exception of the Criminal Background Check and the check.
