Panama approves three new Headquarters of Multinational Companies from Hong Kong, the United States and Spain
The initial investments of the SEMs in Panama have been US$13.5 million so far in 2023
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry approved three new licenses under the Multinational Enterprises regime for companies originating from Hong Kong, the United States and Spain, whose initial combined investments exceed US$7.3 million, according to official information.
They added that with these approvals, the SEM regime totals initial investments of US$13.5 million so far in 2023.
Former Minister Federico Alfaro Boyd recalled that among the benefits offered by this regime is the revitalization of various sectors, the creation of jobs and the transfer of knowledge, which contributes to the economy.
The new SEM companies are engaged in activities in the maritime, energy, insurance and reinsurance sectors, as usual they did not disclose the name of the companies because they still have to pass the notification process.
