Foreign personnel hired by private companies within 10% of ordinary staff

This permit is designed for foreign individuals who are hired by private companies in Panama and earn a minimum salary of B/.850.00per month. The permit is valid for a period of two years, after which the individual can apply for permanent residency.

The requirements for obtaining the PPT-6 permit include:

• Power of Attorney
• Application (notarized and with the respective fiscal stamps)
• Three photographs
• Copy of your passport that has been verified by a notary or corresponding authority
• Criminal Background Certificate or a sworn statement before a notary,
• Health Certificate,
• Certified Check for B/.250.00 in favor of the National Treasury,
• Certified check for B/.800.00 in favor of the National Migration Service
• As worn statement of personal background
• A work contract approved by the Ministry of Labor
• A letter of employment on company letterhead signed by the legal representative of the company
• A copy of the company's operation notice
• A copy of the company's certificate of validity issued by the Public Registry
• A work permit,
• Proof of affiliation with the National Social Security Fund and a copy of the ID card

In case of dependents, additional requirements include a letter of responsibility, proof of relationship, proof of residence, and a certificate of single status and education for individuals over 18 years of age.

Once the two-year provisional period has passed, the individual can apply for the Permanent Residence Permit for Foreign Personnel Hired by Private Companies within 10% of Ordinary Personnel (PPRT-6) and the requirements are the same as the PPT-6 with the exception of the criminal background check, proof of affiliation with the National Social Security Fund and the certified checks.
