Employee of a Company Subcontractor under contract with the ACP

The Panama Canal expansion project is one of the great engineering works of the 21st century that will increase the transit capacity of goods and allow access for larger vessels, and will increase the economy, productivity, efficiency and job opportunities generated by the management of maritime transport in the Republic of Panama. Foreigners who enter the national territory as subcontractors or workers, for the execution of a contract awarded by the Panama Canal Authority whose purpose is to comply with a work related to the Canal expansion project.

This permit may be extended for the duration of the contract and for a maximum term of six years. Exceptionally, it may be extended for more than six years, when it is verified that it is necessary for the execution and fulfillment of the contract entered into with the Panama Canal Authority.

Requirements:

  • Power and attorney by lawyer
  • Copy of passport duly collated by a Notary
  • Health certificate
  • Check B/.250.00 (two hundred and fifty balboas) in the name of the National Treasury (immigration category)
  • Check B/.800.00 (eight hundred balboas) in the name of the National Immigration Service (repatriation deposit).
  • Affidavit of Personal History
  • Three (3) passport size photographs
  • Certification issued by ACP proving the existence of the contract with the contractor company and that the foreigner will be providing his service to said company
  • Responsibility letter from the applicant's employing company stating the position held, the salary to be earned and that the applicant will work exclusively to execute the contract awarded to said employing company by the ACP
  • Work permit

  • Kinship certificate.
  • Study certification (over 18 years to 25 years).
  • Letter of responsibility.
