In LEGAL@work, we understand that navigating the immigration process can be an overwhelming task, especially when it comes to applying for an extension or a change of migration category.
Our team of experienced immigration attorneys is here to guide you through the process and ensure that your application is complete and meets all necessary requirements.
The first step in applying for an extension or a change of migration category is to register the passport affiliation. This is followed by the submission of the visa extension or change application, along with a notarized copy of the passport with a minimum validity of three months. Additionally, copy of flight ticket payment, hotel reservation (if applicable),and original or notarized copy of a utility bill, such as water, electricity or phone.
To justify the reasons for the extension or change, a simple note explaining the reasons for the extension or change and a notarized letter in which the applicant takes responsibility for their expenses (if applicable)must be submitted. Financial solvency for the duration of the stay in the country, which must be a minimum of five hundred balboas (B/.500.00), must also be proven through documents such as a certified check from the bank manager or bank transfer in the applicant's name, a traveler's check in the applicant's name, a bank certification with the account statement reflecting available balances, a credit card statement with available balance, or any other document that proves the applicant's income.
Also, a notarized sworn statement must also be submitted, which must be made before a notary issued on notarial or written sheet. If this is the case, it can be done by: a Panamanian citizen or resident.
