The Permiso de Trabajadores del Área Panamá Pacífico (Workers Permit for the Panama Pacific Area) is granted to a specific percentage of regular workers within a company, developer or operator. This permit is regulated by Decree Law No.3 of February 22, 2008, under articles 28, 206 to 208, and is known as TP.PRT-PEI-APP and TP.PPRT-PEI-APP. The permit is valid for a term established by special laws, up to a period of 5 years, with the possibility of annual extensions.
Toapply for this permit, the following documents are required:
1. Power of attorney and application form,accompanied by B/.8.00 in national stamps
2. Three passport-sized photographs of the applicant with their face uncovered
3. A copy of the applicant's passport, certified by a Panamanian notary public
4. Criminal background check apostilled and legalized by the applicant's country of origin.
5. Health certificate issued by a qualified professional and valid for 3 months from the date of application.
6. Payment of B/.250.00 to the National Treasuryas a fee for a migration category
7. Payment of B/.800.00 to the National Migration Service as a deposit for repatriation, except for children under 12 years of age
8. Declaration of personal background
9. Work permit, employment contract properly registered by MITRADEL and notarized copy of the work ID.
10. Letter of responsibility from the company, certifying the applicant's position and services, signed by the legal representative
11. Original certificate issued by the Panama Pacific Special Economic Area Agency, certifying that the company is registered
12. Original clearance from the Panama Pacific Special Economic Area Agency
13. Original or notarized copy of the Public Registry certification
14. Fiel copy of the MITRADEL resolution
Ifthe applicant has dependents, they must also submit:

16. Legalized and apostilled marriage and birthcertificates, accompanied by 4 stamps of B/.1.00
17. Certification from the CSS that proves paymentof 9 consecutive contributions to apply for an extension
This permit allows foreign workers to work within the Panama Pacific Area, and theprocess to apply for it includes the submission of various legal documents andpayments of fees to the National Treasury and National Migration Service. Theapplicant must also have a valid work contract and be employed in a positionwithin the 10% of regular workers within a company, developer or operatorregistered in the Panama Pacific Special Economic Area.
