As a law firm, LEGAL@work specializes in helping foreign individuals navigate the process of obtaining residency in Panama.
One of the residency options available is the Provisional Residence Permit for Family Reunification for those who are married to a Panamanian citizen. This permit is valid for a period of two years, after which the individual can apply for Permanent Residency.
To apply for Panama residency thru marriage, the foreign individual must provide a variety of documents including a power of attorney, passport copy, criminal background check, health certificate, and a certified check for 250/USD
Additionally, they must provide a marriage certificate, birth certificate of the Panamanian spouse, and proof of cohabitation such as a lease or utility bill.
The process for Permanent Residency is similar, with the addition of a clearance from the National Revenue Authority and a demonstration of economic solvency (As of 2022, this step is not required). Our law firm can assist in the gathering and preparation of all necessary documents, as well as representation in the interview process. We understand the importance of family and are dedicated to helping our clients reunite with their loved ones in Panama.
Note: If the couple has two children during the marriage, the couple does not need to do the interview.
We want to assure you that our team of professionals will guide you through the process, providing accurate and reliable information, and ensuring that your application is processed efficiently and successfully. We are committed to providing a positive, uplifting, and professional experience for our clients.
