At LEGAL@work, we understand the importance of family and the desire to have loved ones by your side. That's why we're here to assist in the process of obtaining a Provisional Resident Permit for Family Reunification of a Dependent of a Permanent Resident (PPT-7). This permit is available to foreign spouses, children under the age of 18, disabled family members, and dependent parents of a 2-year provisional resident, permanent resident, or national. Children between the ages of 18 and 25 may also be eligible for this permit, as long as they are regularly enrolled in school and dependent on the resident or national for financial support. Additionally, a resident or national who has legal guardianship of a minor may also apply for them as a dependent.
The process for obtaining this permit includes meeting the requirements outlined in Article 28 of the Decree Law, and submitting the following documents:
1. Power of Attorney (Notarized)and Application
2. Three (3) photographs
3. A copy of the passport, verified by a notary or authorized official
4. Criminal background check
5. Health certificate
6. Certified check for B/.250.00made payable to the National Treasury
7. Certified check for B/.800.00made payable to the National Migration Service
8. Personal background declaration form
9. Notarized letter of responsibility and repatriation from the resident or national
10. Proof of relationship (marriage certificate, birth certificate, or legal statement)
11. Copy of the migration card of the resident, notarized and authenticated by the identification service if the resident has a national ID card or card E
12. If the applicant is over 18 and under 25, a certification from an educational institution confirming full-time and regular enrollment and a sworn statement of single status
13. Proof of the resident's economic solvency through a declaration of income with a clear record and a minimum income of B/.1,000.00 per month, a current work letter with payroll or social security card, or a bank reference letter with an average balance of at least 4digits and bank stamp
14. A current proof of address in the name of the responsible party (lease agreement, title deed, or utility bill) original or notarized copy.
Please note that in case of a dependent foreign adoptee by a Panamanian, in addition to the common requirements of Article 28 of the Decree Law 3, the following must be submitted:
15. Letter of adoption issued by the competent authority
16. Declaration of acceptance of the adoption issued by the competent authority
17. Photocopy of the child's birth certificate.
